McFarlane Toys is the fifth largest action figure manufacturer in the United States, established in 1994 to manufacture and sell action figures based on founder Todd McFarlane's comic book character Spawn. The international, award-winning company has expanded into licensed products to become one of the premiere action figure producers on the planet.
The company works with many of the top entertainment properties in the industry and has the official rights to all four major North American sports (hockey, baseball, football and basketball) leagues. The sports action figures are produced under their Sportspicks brand.
New to 2010, each case of the assorted Sportspicks offerings will include either a Classic Chase figure or a Super Chase figure. This is similar to programs McFarlane has had in the past, but this time there are more chase figures in the mix and a better chance that the case you purchase will include a low production number figure. They are calling this new initiative the COLLECTOR LEVEL.
There are six levels to the Collector Level program. Each level will have a production range minimum and maximum quantity matched to the specific Collector Level. The Collector Level figures will vary from the standard figure by having alternate uniforms, base variations, trophies, awards, accessories, authentic player signatures, original or replica sports memorabilia or even pieces of actual uniforms or equipment.
Each Collector Level figure will be sequentially numbered on the base, include the players last name and the series name for authenticity.
